Rubber and Urethane FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

 

(Q) Can you color match your urethane to the color of my machinery?

(A) No we can’t color match but we do stock most standard colors.

 

(Q) What is your turn around time to complete a covering project?

(A) That depends on what the items is to be recovered and how many pc’s there are whether the existing covering needs to be removed.

 

(Q) Does your rubber come in different colors?

(A) Most of our rubber is the standard black but our natural rubber is available in an orange or black and we have a tan gum rubber and a white neoprene.

 

(Q)How thick of a rubber covering can you apply to a roller?

(A) There is no limit on the amount of rubber we can add to a roller but there becomes a point to where too much rubber can affect the performance of the roller.

 

(Q) How thick of a spray urethane covering can you apply?

(A) Most applications only require a 180-200 mils (0.180”- 0.200”) of coverage but we can apply the spray urethane up to a 0.375” in some applications.

 

(Q)Do you do on site application of your product?

(A) No, all of our coverings are applied at our facility in Sioux City, IA.

 

(Q) Can I purchase your products and bond them myself?

(A) None of our products are designed for the do it yourselfer as there are particular bonding agents and procedures we use to ensure maximum bonding of our rubber or urethane products.

 

(Q) Is there a minimum order that has to be placed?

(A) No. We can do single part custom orders for standalone equipment/facilities or large quantity orders for OEM’s.

 

(Q) What do I need to establish an account with Sioux Rubber & Urethane?

(A) We have a very simple process in setting up accounts only requiring minimal information and credit references. Most new business accounts are established in 1 – 2 business days

 

(Q) What information is required to get a quote?

(A) The more information we can get the more accurate the quote can be. Basic needs are dimensions of the product and the type of rubber/urethane needed. If you are unsure of the type of rubber/urethane a detailed description of the environment the product is used in can lead us to a recommendation for you.

 

(Q) What are the different materials available?

(A) We stock a large variety of standard rubbers and urethanes. If your specific product or problem requires a custom blended rubber or urethane we can accommodate that also.
