Need Protection? Abrasiplate Has You Covered

What you may already know is that Abrasiplate™ is a rubber-faced plate that protects metal surfaces from the abuse of abrasion, corrosion, friction, and impact. You may also know that studies have shown protected metals can last up to 10 times longer than unprotected metals.

What you may not know is that Abrasiplate isn’t like the other rubber coatings or rubber-faced plates on the market.

“I would say that two of the biggest differences that sets our Abrasiplate apart from our competitors are the quality of rubber and the bond strength we achieve through our vulcanization process,” adds Joe Wren, General Manager at Sioux Rubber & Urethane. “Our plates simply last longer.”

The list of uses for Abrasiplate keeps growing, especially where metals need additional protection from repeated impact and abrasion. It lines industrial mixers, gravel sorters and sifters, mining bins, buffer plates on large truck bodies, and so much more. And Abrasiplate doesn’t just prevent abrasion and absorb impact; it also absorbs sound, which can create a safer work environment for everyone within earshot. Given all it can do, it is one of Sioux Rubber’s most versatile products.

Like many of Sioux Rubber products, Abrasiplate will tend to be a little more expensive up front, but it always saves money in the long run. “While the initial sell isn’t always easy, once the customer uses Abrasiplate, they seldom ever use anything else,” adds Wren. “It’s a good investment because not only does it work for a long time, it also extends the life of your more expensive equipment and reduces operating expenses since it doesn’t need to be replaced as often.”

Fun fact: Abrasiplate is such a popular item in the mining, aggregate, manufacturing, and agricultural industries that last year Sioux Rubber sold enough of their standard plates to line one and a half football fields—with end zones! And that doesn’t include all of the custom plates they created for customers.
