Sioux Rubber & Urethane Employee Spotlight: Cody Wren, Custom Rubber Applicator

Since starting at Sioux Rubber & Urethane five years ago, Cody Wren has seen it all. “I’ve worked on practically everything that Sioux Rubber offers,” he said. “To me, honestly, every day is kind of exciting because we’re constantly learning something new about our products and how we can help our customers. Each day fuels the next, and I truly believe that is what makes Sioux Rubber special.”

While he trained in various positions with the company, Wren became interested in the custom rubber application product line. “I really enjoy the variety of projects we get to do each day,” adds Wren. “Every day is different, but what doesn’t change is how much everyone here cares about what they do.”

Wren goes on to explain that he has witnessed two separate building expansions that allowed Sioux Rubber to expand their manufacturing space, work teams, and product lines, most notably the HawkPad. “Even though we keep growing, our team is practically family. There’s such a low turnover for employees, and most of us have worked together for years,” he said, and then added with a smile, “and there are enough characters on the crew who make sure there is never a dull moment.”

A Siouxland native, Wren loves how much Siouxland keeps changing. “Everything is so accessible here. Sioux City is expanding, and Sioux Rubber is growing right along with it, which is good for my family, the Sioux Rubber family, and the community around us.”
