There is never a dull moment at Sioux Rubber & Urethane. One moment we are curing our trademarked HawkPad for the cardboard packaging industry, the next moment we are developing rollers and spouts for agricultural equipment. And then there are days like today when we can talk about making water bullets and how they instantly, completely, and temporarily seal high-pressure fluid pipes.

Sioux Rubber & Urethane makes its water bullets out of steel or aluminum so that they can withstand up to 250 pounds per square inch of pressure (which is about five times the pressure of a garden hose and twice as much as a municipal water supply). Used by municipalities, hospitals, and any other industry with liquid distribution systems, water bullets work exceptionally well under pressure, allowing repairs, upgrades, and additions to be done on the lines without leaks or pressure disturbances.

Water bullets dramatically reduce water loss, service interruption, and damage to surrounding infrastructure because they work instantly to plug and seal off the flow of pressurized liquid. They are called into action as line stops during maintenance, construction, and disaster situations and typically become part of a permanent fluid control solution. They range in size from 4” to 20” and hold back anything from drinking water to wastewater lines.

To us, the most interesting thing about water bullets isn’t what they do; it is that we were approached by a client to develop, test, and create a solution for a product they wished to market. We may not know everything about high-pressure liquid distribution systems, but we do know a thing or two (or several) about creating high-quality solutions for high-impact environments.

Whether you want to order our pre-fabricated parts, liners, and moldings or you have a concept you only trust to the best in the business, Sioux Rubber & Urethane has you covered.
